In this presentation, Ms. Freeman argues that W21C fits the definition of a “Boundary Organization” as presented in Parker and Crona’s 2012 article, “On being all things to all people: Boundary organizations and the contemporary research university.” Further, Ms. Freeman argues that understanding W21C as a boundary organization provides a concrete strategy for engaging diverse stakeholders in a sustainable and productive way.
1. Understand where the term “Boundary Organization” comes from and what it means.
2. Learn how boundary management can help build robust and sustainable knowledge production networks
The W21C Journal Club+ is a self-approved group learning activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
